Struffoli are a dessert of Neapolitan origin, much beloved during the holidays. This coffee version will give that extra something to your palate. If you love coffee and fried desserts, this recipe is for you! Immerse yourself in the Neapolitan culinary tradition and try this delicious variation of struffoli.
This recipe for coffee struffoli is suitable for about 6-8 people.

Coffee Struffoli


● 500 gr of flour
● 4 eggs
● 100 gr of sugar
● 100 gr butter
● 1 glass of ristretto coffee
● 1 sachet of vanillin
● sunflower oil for frying
● honey for decoration


Start by taking a large bowl and pouring in the flour. Add the eggs and mix well until all the ingredients are well blended.
Add the melted butter to the mixture and mix again to make sure it’s well distributed.
Add the sugar, sachet of vanillin and ristretto coffee and continue mixing until you have a smooth, homogenous mixture.
Take one small portion of dough at a time and form cylinders about 2 to 3 cm in diameter. With a sharp knife, cut each cylinder into 1 cm pieces.
In a large saucepan, heat plenty of sunflower oil until hot. Fry the struffoli a little at a time until golden brown and crisp.
Drain the struffoli on paper towels to remove excess oil.
In a large bowl, mix the fried treats with honey. If you like, you can decorate the struffoli with powdered sugar or other ingredients to your liking.
Let the coffee struffoli cool and serve them to your guests.
