101RECIPES: White chocolate doughnut

A dessert that wins you over first with its aroma, then by its appearance and flavour. The white chocolate doughnut includes some delicious ingredients, starting with the main one: 101CAFFE’ white chocolate! To enjoy and share with kids and grownups! Are you ready?

White chocolate doughnut

  • 3 eggs at room temperature
  • 180g of butter at room temperature
  • 300g of 00 flour
  • 150g of sugar
  • 150 ml of white chocolate (3 full cups)
  • a pinch of salt
  • 16g of baking powder
  • 1 sachet of vanillin
  • 70g of white chocolate flakes

The first step in making this delicious white chocolate doughnut is … to prepare the white chocolate: dispense (using your coffee machine and 101CAFFE’ capsules) 3 cups of white chocolate and set them aside to cool to room temperature.
Preheat the oven (static) to 180 degrees.
In a bowl, combine the white flour and baking powder (both sifted) and set aside.
Now, add the chopped butter and sugar to another bowl: whisk them together with an electric whisk for around 3 minutes until they form a light and fluffy cream.
Add the eggs, one by one. Add the first egg, stir well and, when everything is mixed together, add the second egg, mix it, and then the third egg and mix. Now, add the salt and vanillin to the mixture and stir everything together.
Drizzle the white chocolate into the mixture, alternating it with the flour, a little at a time, continuing to mix with the electric whisk and avoiding that any lumps form. Once all the chocolate and flour have been added and you see that the mixture for your white chocolate doughnut has a nice smooth consistency, set it aside.
Take a doughnut mold (23 cm diameter), grease the inside of it with some butter and dust with a little flour. Now, pour the mixture into the mold and evenly sprinkle over the white chocolate flakes.
Place in the oven (on the lower shelf) and leave the white chocolate doughnut to bake for 40 minutes. When cooked, the surface of the doughnut will have a lovely golden colour. In any case, perform the toothpick test in a couple of places (if the toothpick comes out dry, your white chocolate doughnut is ready, if not, leave it in the oven for a few more minutes).
Remove the white chocolate doughnut from the oven, leave it to cool and transfer it to a serving plate.
And if you really want to go over-the-top, melt a bar of white chocolate in a pan and drizzle it over the top of the donut: even Santa’s mouth will be watering!
