Banana bread has American origins, but once it landed in Italy it passed through 101CAFFE’ and a simpler and more delicious recipe was born. You prepare it in 10 minutes: the oven will do the rest.

Are you ready?



  1. In a bowl, sift the 00 flour and baking powder
  2. Add the orange zest, salt and instant coffee
  3. Stir well to mix everything
  4. In another bowl, put the sugar, milk and the cup of coffee you have prepared (coffee at room temperature)
  5. Mix these ingredients with a whisk
  6. Peel the two bananas and mash them using a fork until they are pureed
  7. Add bananas to the liquid mixture
  8. Stir with a spatula to mix well
  9. Pour the liquid ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients
  10. Mix gently with a spatula until you get a homogeneous mixture
  11. Pour the mixture into a previously buttered plum cake mold
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 190° C for about 30-35 minutes (static oven)
  13. Take it out of the oven and let it cool completely
  14. When it is cold, remove it from the mold and, if you want, sprinkle it with powdered sugar

If you want to offer it to children, just replace coffee with barley (you hit gold for their snack!)
