Coffee sorbet with cream

During these days heat has been felt all over Italy: to refresh ourselves we propose a new and always fresh recipe.

Ingredients

  • Coffee (250ml, about 8 cups). As sorbet is a product of Sicilian origin, we recommend our Sicilia Premium
  • Sugar: 8 teaspoons
  • Icing sugar: 50 grams
  • Water: 50 ml

Procedure

  1. Prepare coffee and let it cool, then pour it into a bowl.
  2. Add sugar and mix with a whisk and while you beat add water at room temperature.
  3. Put it all in an ice cream maker and activate it for half an hour.
  4. If you don’t have the ice cream maker, leave it in the bowl and put it in the freezer.
    !! Remember to mix it every 20 minutes to prevent it from freezing !!
  5. Do this until you have reached the desired consistency for the whipped cream.
  6. Beat cream and icing sugar in a bowl.
  7. Stop working cream and sugar when you have reached the density you prefer.

Variants

  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon powder or use flavored coffee with cinnamon or vanilla
  • To give a citrus taste you can add some orange peel
  • For a delicious end meal you can add a couple of tablespoons of hot coffee on granita.
